2.  Send the completed form to:

Chairperson, Certified Grievance Committee
Wayne County Bar Association
P.O. Box 353
Wooster, OH 44691

After your completed grievance form is received, the review process begins. This initial process usually takes between 60 to 90 days. A formal investigation takes longer.

Grievances can also be filed with the Supreme Court of Ohio. To file it with this court, download the Grievance Complaint Form and send the completed form to:

Disciplinary Counsel
The Supreme Court of Ohio
250 Civic Center Drive, Suite 325
Columbus, OH 43215-7411

The grievance process is a disciplinary process. It will not change any outcomes to a case.

Depending on where the grievance is filed, either the certified grievance committee or the office of disciplinary counsel will gather evidence in order to determine whether the attorney or judge violated any ethical rules. The attorney or judge will be notified of your grievance. If the group determines there is enough evidence of an ethical violation, then a formal complaint charging misconduct will be filed with the Board of Professional Conduct. A public hearing will be scheduled, and you might be asked to testify. If there is enough evidence of misconduct, then the Ohio Supreme Court may take action, else all charges will be dismissed.
